This scale is one of the most used instruments to measure how a person is dealing with a cancer diagnosis. A list of the types of interventions, methods of treatment that you know and use

Individual consulting with a cognitive behavioral approach and psycho-social follow-up of patients and their family:

  • Helping patients to adapt to their diagnosis. 
    • Working to decrease the emotional distress caused by the disease. 
    • Promoting personal control and active participation of the patient in the treatment of an oncological disease. 
    • Establishing effective communication between a patient and their surroundings. 
    • Developing effective strategies to solve problems related to the disease together with a patient. 
    • Helping patients to openly express negative emotions in a safe environment. 
    • Psychological preparation to examinations, procedures, operations etc. 
    • Helping patients to accept the body image changes that arose during the treatment. 
    • Helping patients with psycho-social rehabilitation and with adaptation to ordinary life after the treatment. 
    • Helping to resolve the fear of cancer recurrence.
    • Helping to overcome existential crisis, fears, depressive mood, anxious thoughts, directly related to the disease (at all stages). 
    • Teaching patients functional coping strategies and stress management.
