Pain in the breasts

Pain in the breasts is the most common complaint at a mammologist visit. This symptom often requires comprehensive approach. The difficulty lies in the fact that there may be multiple reasons causing the pain the breasts. Very often at the appointment it becomes clear that the pain is caused by the problems in thoracic spine, or even by improperly chosen underwear when the periods of the menstrual cycle change.

Pain in the breasts may be related to the cycle (cyclic mastalgia) or may occur regardless of the monthly hormone levels alterations (non-cyclic mastalgia). Pain in the area of the breasts which does not have anything to do with the breast tissue belongs to a different group. It can also be provoked by both skin and heart diseases. The conclusion is that pain in the breasts is quite a difficult problem where you cannot manage without the detailed examination and mammologist examination. Very often there is a need in additional diagnostics and multidisciplinary approach, meaning consultations of doctors of other specialties are necessary.
